EHA 2024 | Patient-centered care: overcoming barriers to collaboration between the patient and physician

Lorna Warwick, BA, Lymphoma Coalition, Toronto, Canada, discusses the importance of optimizing patient-centered care in hematological malignancies, highlighting that most patients wish to be heavily involved in the decision-making process regarding the treatment and management of their disease. Barriers to collaboration between the patient and physician must be overcome, and patients should be encouraged to communicate and ask questions about their care. This interview took place at the 29th Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Madrid, Spain.
